Millennium Lighting R Series Buying Guide
The Millennium Lighting RLM collection lets you mix and match pieces to create a custom lighting look, but you do need to buy all the parts separately. This buying guide helps you make sure you get everything you need from the R Series!

Step 1: Shades and Finishes
First, decide what kind of shade you would like. There are 6 different shade styles available. All styles are wet area rated, so you can use them in outdoor areas that will be directly exposed to the elements. Need rust resistance? Use aluminum, natural copper or porcelain options. (Aluminum and natural copper will patina over time, but will not rust.)
There are 7 standard finish options: architectural bronze (ABR), copper (CP), galvanized (GA), satin black (SB), satin green (SG), satin red (SR) and white (WH).
Aluminum finish options are aluminum (AL) and aluminum painted satin black (ASB).
Natural copper finish is NC.
Porcelain finish options are black porcelain (BP), sea foam porcelain (SFP) and white porcelain (WP).
Angle Shades

Angle shades are available in 10” and 12” sizes, including porcelain and natural copper options. Their item numbers start with RAS10 or RAS12.
You can use angle shades to create wall lights, so you will need a goose neck arm too.
Deep Bowl Shades

Deep bowl shades are available in 10” and 12” sizes. Their item numbers start with RDBS10 or RDBS12.
You can use deep bowl shades to create wall lights or pendants. For wall lights, you’ll need a goose neck arm. For pendants, you’ll need stems and a canopy kit.
You can add optional wire guards for an extra touch of style.
Emblem Shades

Emblem shades are available in 10” and 12” sizes. Their item numbers start with RES10 or RES12.
You can use emblem shades to create wall lights, so you will need a goose neck arm too.

Railroad Shades

Railroad shades are available in 14” and 18” sizes. Their item numbers start with RRRS14 or RRRS18.
You can use railroad shades to create wall lights or pendants. For wall lights, you’ll need a goose neck arm. For pendants, you’ll need stems and a canopy kit.
An etched ribbed glass shade and wire guard are included, but if you want a clear glass shade instead, that is sold separately.
Radial Wave Shades

Radial wave shades are available in 12”, 15” and 18” sizes. Their item numbers start with RRWS12, RRWS15 or RRWS18.
You can use radial wave shades to create wall lights or pendants. For wall lights, you’ll need a goose neck arm. For pendants, you’ll need stems and a canopy kit.
An etched ribbed glass shade and wire guard are included, but if you want a clear glass shade instead, that is sold separately.
Warehouse Shades

Warehouse shades are available in 14” and 17” sizes, including aluminum, natural copper and porcelain options. Their item numbers start with RWHS14, RWHS17, RMWHS14 or RMWHS17.
You can use warehouse shades to create wall lights or pendants. For wall lights, you’ll need a goose neck arm. For pendants, you’ll need stems and a canopy kit.
You can add optional wire guards for an extra touch of style.
Step 2: Required Accessories
For wall lights, you’ll need to purchase a goose neck arm.

These are available in 9 different sizes (10”, 13” curved, 13” straight, 14 ½”, 21 ½”, 23”, 24”, 30” and 41”), in all 7 standard finish options and they come with a backplate. Goose neck item numbers start with RGN.
Aluminum goose necks are also available and ideal for rust resistance.
To get precise angle adjustment on your wall lights, add an optional wall mount swivel.
For pendants, you’ll need to purchase stems and a canopy kit.

Stems come in 4 lengts: 2”, 12”, 24” and 36”. Their item numbers start with RSCM, RS1, RS2 or RS3. (If you need to use more than 36” of stems, you will need a connector too.)
They are available in all 7 standard finish options as well as aluminum, which is ideal for rust resistance.

Canopy kits have item numbers starting with RSCK and are available in all 7 standard finish options as well as aluminum for rust resistance. If you have a sloped ceiling with an angle steeper than 25 degrees, you will need a steep slope canopy kit instead.
Step 3: Optional Accessories
These aren’t required to complete your RLM look, but you may want or need to use them.

Glass shades can be used on railroad and radial wave shades as well as 5370, 5390 and 5391 models. They can be used with or without a wire cage. RGCNR is clear glass and RGCR is ribbed clear glass.

Post adapters turn any R Series shade into 1-light or 2-light post mounts. Look for RPAS or RPAD item numbers. Available in all 7 standard finish options.
The post adapters fit 3” diameter posts and pier mount bases. (Millennium Lighting does not sell posts or pier mount bases.)

Steep slope canopy kits are for ceilings steeper than 25 degrees, up to 45 degrees max. Look for RSCKSS item numbers. Available in all 7 standard finish options.

Stem connectors are required for creating stem lengths longer than 36”. Connectors have item numbers starting with RC and are available in all 7 standard finish options. If you use connectors outdoors, your local codes may require the use of pipe sealant or plumber’s putty.

Wall mount swivels allow for precise angle adjustment of wall mounted shades. Look for RSW item numbers. Available in all 7 standard finish options. If you use wall mount swivels outdoors, your local codes may require the use of pipe sealant or plumber’s putty.

Wire guards add some industrial flair to angle, deep bowl, emblem or warehouse shades. They come in 10”, 12”, 14” and 17” sizes and have item numbers that start with RWG10, RWG12, RWG14 or RWG17. Available in all standard finish options except copper. Wire guards can’t be used on aluminum, natural copper or porcelain shades.

Feeling overwhelmed by options? That’s OK. The RLM series does include some all-in-one solutions too!

Cord-hung pendants are available in 4 shade styles! They come with the shade, the canopy and 12 feet of adjustable black cord. All cord hung pendants are damp area rated, so they can be used only in covered outdoor areas.
Deep bowl shade cord hung pendants have item numbers that start with RDBC10 or RDBC12. They come in all 7 standard finish options. You can add wire guards, too.
Radial wave shade cord hung pendants have item numbers that start with RRWC12, RRWC15 or RRWC18. They come in all 7 standard finish options. They are supplied with ribbed etched glass shades and wire guards.
Railroad shade cord hung pendants have item numbers that start with RRRC14 or RRRC18. They come in 4 finish options and are supplied with ribbed etched glass shades and wire guards.
Warehouse shade cord hung pendants have item numbers that start with RWHC14 or RWHC17. They come in all 7 standard finish options. You can add wire guards, too.

Wall brackets include a shade, a small curved arm and a backplate. They are available in 3 sizes and are wet area rated.
8” sizes have a warehouse style look and come with wire guards. Available in 7 finish options, including natural copper. These wall brackets have item numbers that start with RWHWB8.
9” sizes have a nautical look and come with glass shades and wire guards. Available in 4 finish options, including natural copper. These wall brackets have item numbers that start with 5390 or 5393.
10” sizes have a warehouse style look. Choose from options supplied with a wire guard or options supplied with a clear prismatic glass shade. Available in 4 finish options, including aluminum and natural copper. Look for item numbers that start with 5440, 5441 or 5451.
